HNTB Corporation has named Cheryle Tyson a national transit/rail consultant based in the firm’s Plano, Texas, office. She will focus on advancing growth of HNTB’s profile in the transit industry and provide advice to the firm’s transit team and clients nationwide.
Tyson has more than 30 years of design, project and program management experience. Prior to joining HNTB, she worked as a regional engineer for 22 years with the Federal Transit Administration in Fort Worth, Texas. Her responsibilities at the FTA included engineering review of grants, grant management, oversight of three Project Management Oversight Contractors and attendance at oversight reviews. While at FTA, Tyson provided oversight for Capital Investment Grant projects, including Dallas Area Rapid Transit Green Line, DART Orange Line Phase 2 and 3, and Houston METRO North Corridor Light Rail Extension.
Tyson earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University.
