Dan Smith has been named vice president of real estate development at Watco Companies and will oversee and assist with all aspects of the real estate division, including track and land leases as well as property development.
Previously, Smith was a managing partner at Charles Burt Realtors, where he managed six offices with 225 employees, performing duties that included sales, managing title and development divisions of the company and employee enrichment. Before joining Charles Burt Realtors, Smith played on several major league baseball teams, including the Texas Rangers, Montréal Expos, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians.
He is based in Watco's headquarters in Pittsburg, Kansas.
