Skanska to Renovate Four MTA Stations

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has awarded Skanska a US$150 million contract to improve four subway stations along the Astoria Line in Queens. 

The project includes the design, construction and rehabilitation of four elevated transit stations at 30th Avenue, Broadway, 36th Avenue and 39th Avenue. The work will include new stairs, guard rails, automated fare collection areas, partitions, windscreens, charging stations, canopy improvements and electrical upgrades, as well as rehabilitating and strengthening of structural concrete and steel.

Construction began in April 2017 and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2019.
