Railinc, a subsidiary of the Association of American Railroads, has been honored by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) with an NCTA 21 Award, winning the category best Industry Driven Technology Company.
Each year, the NCTA 21 Awards recognize North Carolina companies and individuals that exemplify excellence in 21 categories, including green technology, software development and life sciences technology. The awards showcase the best achievements in technology and innovation.
In 2009, Railinc implemented the new Umler system and the upgrade of the industry's Embargoes application for Class I and short line railroads. The company is also an industry leader in Agile development, a process that more fully engages customers and improves the pace of product development.
The NCTA is a statewide organization representing North Carolina's technology industry. Its mission is to promote the business of technology throughout the state. This year's award winners were recognized at the annual awards gala held on November 12 in Cary, N.C.
