PATCO Completes Transit Car Overhaul Project

PATCO, a rapid transit system owned by the Delaware River Port Authority, has completed the $194 million overhaul project of its transit cars with the last pair of refurbished trains entering into service.

All 120 PATCO cars, upgraded by Alstom Transport, received new interiors and communications, security and mechanical improvements. The cars also had braking and propulsion control systems installed.

"PATCO is showing its commitment to providing safe and efficient train service, as well as extending the life of our assets as we begin the next 50 years of service," stated John Rink PATCO general manager.
