OmniTRAX has appointed Rob Russell senior vice president marketing and commercial strategy, reporting to Chief Strategy Officer Pierre-Luc Mathieu.
Russell, who joins OmnitTrax with almost 20 years of rail experience, most recently served as president of Progressive Rail. He also served for 16 years at Union Pacific Railroad, working in the finance, operating and commercial departments. His most recent position at Union Pacific was assistant vice president network, economic and industrial development, responsible for the economic and industrial development, short line railroad, port and commercial and interline strategy groups. Russell was also an officer in the U.S. Navy Civil Engineer Corps for six years, attaining the rank of lieutenant.
Russell earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Rutgers University and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University.
