NRC 2010 Conference: A Record-Setter

The National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association's (NRC's) annual conference and trade show opened last week to a record crowd in Palm Desert, Calif.

In fact, there was a lot of talk about numbers at the event, held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort during a stretch of sunny, 75-degree days. More than 750 people attended the conference and the trade show had more than 60 booths, the largest for NRC as a stand-alone event.

"We have another year of record attendance at the conference," noted NRC President Chuck Baker.

NRC Chairman Manny Ramirez, maintenance contract manager for Mass. Electric Construction Co., welcomed attendees to his home state of California. He said the 2010 conference was "our most successful in the history of the NRC."

NRC is celebrating its 40th anniversary as an association representing the railroad construction and contracting sector.
