Frank Named Executive Director of National Railroad Museum

Last week, the board of directors of the National Railroad Museum announced the appointment of Jacqueline Frank as the new executive director of the museum, after a unanimous vote of the Museum's directors. She succeeds Michael Telzrow, who recently assumed a position with the Wisconsin Veterans Museum. The appointment was made following a nation-wide search.

Frank has served at the National Railroad Museum's director of education for the past 3 years. During her tenure with the National Railroad Museum, she has introduced numerous educational programs and worked to develop the volunteer corps. She took on the role of project leader for the permanent exhibit "Pullman Porters: From Service to Civil Rights," which opened in July 2008.

As executive director, Frank will be focusing her efforts on developing new strategic and master plans for the institution and executing a capital campaign in support of these initiatives.

"I am looking forward to taking on this new and more challenging leadership role within the Museum," commented Frank. "In recent years, the Museum has grown into a valuable resource providing the public with a fun, educational environment. We have also become an institution offering teachers a venue where school-standard curriculum is taught in a manner that students find enjoyable. Building on our recent successes in exhibit development, increased membership and community outreach, the staff and I plan to continue our forward progress."

Frank earned bachelor's degrees in history and English from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, a master's degree in history from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and an American Association of Museums certificate in museum studies.
