Michael O. Miller has joined Genesee & Wyoming Inc. (GWI) (NYSE: GWR) as the company's first chief commercial officer, North America. The newly created position is based in Jacksonville, Fla., and reports to the CEO.
“Michael has spent the last decade improving customers’ supply chain efficiencies through rail, transload and intermodal service,” said Jack Hellmann, President and CEO. “As the scope of GWI’s North American operations continues to grow, he is ideally suited to strengthen our customer focus, our industrial development activities and our relationships with Class I partners.”
Miller, who has more than 15 years of logistics and transportation industry experience, most recently served as general manager of Norfolk Southern’s Modalgistics Supply Chain Solutions. His prior experience includes roles with Derivion Corp., Georgia-Pacific, and Roadway Express. Miller holds a B.S. in industrial engineering and an M.S. in business management from North Carolina State University.
