Metra Names Deno Chief HR Officer

Metra, the Chicago area commuter rail service, has named Jayne K. Deno chief human resources officer.

Deno joins Metra with 20 years of experience in human resources, including experience in talent acquisition and management, employee relations, policy development and contract negotiations.

Prior to joining Metra, she served as vice president of human resources at Americas for Oerlikon Fairfield in Lafayette, Ind. Deno also oversaw the management of an on-site employee medical clinic, and late last year she negotiated a new clinic provider to expand services with no cost increase to the company.

Deno also served as human resources manager for Schneider Electric, where she led salary and union wage administration, talent and performance management, employee engagement, recognition programs, progression and succession planning and internal and external communications for a site of 500 union employees.

She also worked at Ivy Tech Community College’s Corporate College and in human resources for General Motors/Delphi Electronics and Safety.

Deno earned a bachelor’s degree from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, and a master’s degree in public management from Indiana University.

“We’re pleased Ms. Deno is bringing her wealth of knowledge and experience to Metra,” said Executive Director/CEO Don Orseno. “Her expertise will ensure our agency continues to succeed by supporting and engaging current and prospective employees.”
