The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), with support from Keolis Commuter Services, will perform weekend infrastructure improvements on the Framingham/Worcester Commuter Rail Line. Weekend train service on September 16 and 17 and on September 23 and 24 will be replaced with shuttle buses between Wellesley Farms and South Station.
Crews will be performing track work for a new interlocking system in the Brighton area, which will further improve the flow of train traffic in the area and reduce delays.
Inbound Framingham/Worcester Line commuter rail trains will terminate at Wellesley Farms where passengers can connect with shuttle buses. Boston Landing and Yawkey Stations will be closed for the duration of these weekend outages. There will be no direct inbound shuttle bus from Newton stations to Boston. All inbound Newton passengers are encouraged to utilize the Green Line to Boston. Shuttle buses will provide transportation from Auburndale, West Newton, and Newtonville Stations to Riverside.
Shuttle buses to Wellesley Farms for the commuter rail connection will be available for outbound Framingham/Worcester Line service from South Station and Back Bay or Auburndale, West Newton, and Newtonville.
