HNTB Corporation has appointed Francesco Cantatore, PE, senior program director rail systems. He will be based in Los Angeles and work with public- and private-sector clients across the United States.
Cantatore joins HNTB with more than 20 years of experience in operations, engineering, supply chain management, procurement and project delivery. He has experience in rolling stock and traditional and high-speed rail systems.
Prior to joining HNTB, Cantatore served another firm as senior director, business operations surface transportation management systems. While there, he completed major projects for transit agencies, including Caltrain, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Sound Transit.
He has examined and re-engineered operational procedures, managed complex rail system projects, and formulated operational policies and procedures.
Cantatore earned a doctorate in electronic engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy, with a specialization in robotics and control systems. He also holds a professional engineer certificate.
