CTA Continues Work on Garfield Gateway Project

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has announced that temporary closures will take place over the weekends of September 15-17 and September 22-24 at south Green Line stations for work to continue on the Garfield Gateway Project.

CTA will close the stations at Garfield, Cottage Grove, King Drive, Halsted and Ashland/63rd to install the steel structure that will support the new canopy over the tracks. Shuttle buses will be provided for customers.

The $50 million Garfield Gateway Project includes extended platform canopies, upgraded platform accessibility, and the installation of public art and new landscaping for the original Garfield station.
