Caltrain Posts Annual Ridership Numbers

Caltrain has released its 2019 annual ridership count, with a decrease of 2.3 percent for weekday ridership and an average mid-weekday ridership (AMWR) of approximately 63,597.

Ridership increased 0.5 percent during peak commute hours, with 34,552 riders in 2019 compared to 34,373 riders in 2018. There was a 5.5 percent increase in midday riders, a 7.2 percent decrease in reverse peak riders (southbound in the morning peak period and northbound in the afternoon peak period) and a 16.4 percent decrease in evening riders. Ridership is up at 11 stations and down at 18 stations. 

Ridership has grown when compared to the annual 2010 numbers that recorded average weekday ridership (AWR) of 34,120 and the 2004 AWR of 23,947.
