The Board of Directors of Caltrain, the provider of commuter rail service along the San Francisco Peninsula, has approved a $32.1 million contract to Proven Management Inc. for the South San Francisco Station Improvement Project. Construction will start November 2017 and is expected to be complete by summer 2019.
The existing South San Francisco Station will be replaced with a new 700-foot center boarding platform that connects to a pedestrian underpass from the platform to Grand Avenue/Poletti Drive. The project will also include track and signal work. The improvements will make the station fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
