ASLRRA Meeting in Nevada Draws Near-Record Crowd

Despite the downturn in the economy and the lingering slowdown in rail freight business, the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association's 96th annual convention drew the group's second-largest attendance.

The convention's attendance numbers were only slightly lower than last year's record numbers for their convention in San Antonio. Top ASLRRA executives said they were pleased with the strong turnout, particularly from railroad officials, and with the record number of trade show booths and suppliers exhibiting. The ASLRRA's trade show is managed by UBM Global Trade, parent company of The Pocket List of Railroad Officials and RailResource.com.

This week's ASLRRA convention was held at the Red Rock Resort in Summerlin, Nevada.
