FreightCar America, Inc., today announced the appointment of Kathleen (Kate) M. Boege as the company’s general counsel and corporate secretary, effective Jan. 14, 2013. She will succeed Laurence M. Trusdale, who is retiring, and will be based in the company’s Chicago headquarters.
Boege comes to FreightCar America from Bally Total Fitness Corporation, where she had served in a variety of roles, most recently as chief administrative officer, general counsel and secretary. Before joining Bally, Boege held senior legal positions at the Chicago Stock Exchange and practiced business law in Chicago at Jones Day and Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon.
“Kate will be a great addition to our executive team,” said Ed Whalen, the railcarmaker’s president and CEO, in a written statement. “She is a highly accomplished attorney with a breadth of senior-level experience in both legal and business roles. We are delighted that she is coming to FreightCar America.”
